Nourish your SOUL
These gooey, chocolatey soul-nourishing brownies are a guaranteed crowd pleaser.
Are they gluten-free? Yes! I personally use Bob’s Red Mill Paleo Baking Flour, which is gluten-free, but you can use any flour you have at hand.
Are they dairy-free? Yes! If you are strictly dairy-free, I suggest Enjoy Life Chocolate Chips.
Can they be made vegan? Yes! They can be made vegan by replacing the egg with a flax egg and skipping out on the collagen powder.
How to Make a flax egg: mix one tablespoon ground flaxseed meal with three tablespoons of water. Mix together, and let sit for 15 minutes to thicken. Then, add to the wet ingredients. That’s it! Super easy.
*TIP: make sure to store your ground flax in your fridge to keep them fresh and prevent them from going rancid.
What is tahini? Tahini is sesame seed paste – so ground sesame seeds! Its a little bitter, but absolutely delicious when combined with some sweetness + salt. If you have a local persian market, I highly suggest picking up your tahini there. It’s less expensive and extra creamy (some store bought tahini is hard… it should be runny and creamy!)
Can I use another nut or seed butter? Absolutely! Choose your favorite nut or seed butter. Consider: almond butter, peanut butter, or pumpkin or sunflower seed butter (great for nut-free environments).
